The Early Dynastic Period follows the unification of Lower and Upper Egypt in c. 3150 BCE. It is generally taken to include the First and Second Dynasties, lasting from the Protodynastic Period of Egypt until 2686 BC, or the beginning of the Old Kingdom.
The Old Kingdom is most commonly regarded as spanning the period of time when Egypt was ruled by the Third Dynasty through to the Sixth Dynasty (2686 BC – 2134 BCE)
Spanned approximately three hundred years after the end of the Old Kingdom from ca. 2181-2055 BCE. It included the seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and part of the eleventh dynasties
Corresponds to the Eleventh Dynasty through Fourteenth Dynasties, roughly between 2040 BCE to 1640 BCE
